Hyderabad: In a major step toward sustainable logistics, Whizzy Logistics launched 200 new electric delivery bikes on Sunday, reinforcing its commitment to achieving a 100% electric fleet by 2030.
Operating in 36 cities across India, Whizzy has seen rapid growth in the quick commerce last-mile delivery segment, completing a delivery nearly every second. The company currently has 5,000 delivery riders and aims to expand to 15,000 riders by next year, with all new additions being fully electric.
Whizzy’s Sustainable Vision
Whizzy, a Hyderabad-based startup, has grown from a single-city operation to a nationwide presence in just a few years. Founder & CEO Ravi Chander Reddy Bathi emphasized that transitioning to an all-electric fleet is both a strategic and environmentally responsible move. The company plans to shift 70-80% of its current fleet to EVs in the initial phase.
Government Support for EV Adoption
The launch event was officiated by Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary, I&C and IT, who highlighted Telangana’s leadership in India’s EV revolution. He stated, “Telangana is at the forefront of India’s electric mobility revolution. Companies like Whizzy, which are actively electrifying their delivery fleets, embody the spirit of our 2030 EV vision—sustainable, scalable, and inclusive.”
India’s Growing EV Adoption in Logistics
Whizzy’s expansion aligns with India’s broader push towards electric mobility. With government incentives, increasing fuel prices, and environmental concerns, many companies in the logistics and quick commerce sectors are shifting towards electric delivery vehicles.
As Whizzy continues to scale its operations, its sustainability-first approach is expected to set a precedent for eco-friendly logistics in India.
